Charles V. Leonard grew up in Murrells Inlet. In 1983, he graduated from Socastee High School. He went on to earn his undergraduate degree in Insurance and Risk Management from the University of South Carolina in 1987. After which, he successfully entered the University of South Carolina School of Law, earning his law degree in 1991.
For more than 30 years, Charles has represented clients in wrongful death cases, complex civil litigation, workers’ compensation and serious personal injury claims. He has successfully tried cases in both State and Federal Court and argued before the South Carolina Court of Appeals and the South Carolina Supreme Court. His in-depth understanding of the insurance industry has allowed him to excel in representing injured workers, as well as clients whose lives have been devastated by the negligent of others or insurance claim denials.
He and his wife remain active members within their church and community. He has been a member of, or supported, the Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, Sertoma, Belin UMC, Happy Wheels, and many other organizations. Charles enjoys coaching soccer and basketball, while currently chairing the Belin Church basketball league.
